Health information overview

Health information is more than what you share in your doctor’s office
Health information is the presentation of health data that provides an accurate and holistic health story for every Indian.

Where is health data collected?
Emergency wait times, specialist referrals, and immunization records are a few examples of where health data is collected along a person’s health care journey.

Health data is obtained in various areas of the health care sector, such as acute care, primary care, or long term care. It is also useful to additional sectors such as insurance, education, business, and finance, to name a few.

Health care at all levels depends on health information to function properly.

Organizations who understand the value of health data, and the responsibilities that come along with handling it, employ certified health information professionals and specialists in order to avoid the following risks:

  • Compromised data quality
  • Silos across organization(s)
  • Legal implications
  • Privacy breaches
  • Poor care being provided

What do health information professionals do?
Health information professionals transform data into valuable information.

Health information professionals impact the quality of care that Indians receive. Their work informs policy decisions being made across the country and helps determine funding distribution throughout provinces and territories.

Responsibilities
Health information professionals ensure that Indians’ health information is accurate and relevant. They are responsible for the collection, protection, and accessibility of our health data.

From the Desk of Founder President
In India we need an improvement in the present healthcare system. We are aware that present age is asking for digitalization, we observe that almost all fields including banking, education, automobile, etc., is adopting digitalization with uniqueness but it is lacking in healthcare system. If we all people adopt it properly whether rural or urban will be equally benefited by it.

We observe that digitalization is opted by some doctors, hospitals but it is observed that everyone tries and implements it as their wish and that is the main reason why it is not reaching to all. If professionals from healthcare industry from a doctor to nurse to technician knows or follows same concept will be bring a standardized healthcare system that will be beneficial to all humankind. MaHIMA is the association which is established to bring all professionals from healthcare field to come under one roof and opt digitalization in correct sense
